The Intelligent Organisation: How To Thrive amidst AI Chaos

Discover how the Viable Systems Model empowers organisations to self-regulate, adapt, and succeed in the fast-changing AI era - transforming chaos into clarity and resilience.

TL;DR - How To Design The Intelligent Organisation

  • Without structure, organisations risk chaotic, unfocused responses to AI and complexity.

  • A proven framework for building intelligent, adaptable organisations in the AI era (VSM).

  • The five characteristics that enable organisational resilience and transformation.

  • How VSM helps organisations self-regulate, adapt to rapid change, and thrive amid disruption.

The AI Frenzy

There is a frenzy around AI right now.

Organisations are nervous.

On one side is the fear of AI itself.

On the other hand, the paralysing fear of missing out.

The result is strategic dispersal - random, unfocused activities - because the organisation lacks mechanisms to make sense of its environment.

AI has shown that many organisations lack a mechanism for adapting. Instead, they become distracted by shiny new toys. They cannot decide which direction to take.

They don’t know how to sense-make in their environment - plenty of human brain-power, but no organisational brain.

In its absence, automatic habitual behaviour predominates, leaving the organisation neither intelligent nor adaptable. And, just like humans, it is the Adaptive ones that thrive.
